Artist: Radiohead
Album: OK Computer
Genre: Alternative Rock, Progressive Rock, Experimental Rock
Release Date: May 21, 1997

This week’s album is probably the most suggested album since I started taking requests. OK Computer, the third album from English alt-rockers Radiohead, comes recommended by Zarnyx, spikepiegel, Spacegar, and Hanoutmatoi.

Many people claim that OK Computer is one of the most overrated albums of all time, while many others say that it is one of the best albums of all time. But the beauty of music is in the ear of the beholder. While not exactly the kind of music I go out of my way to listen to, I recognize why people love this album. It’s quite a relaxing listen, while also being very complex if you pay close attention.

Somehow I have managed to have never listened to this album in it’s entirety before writing this post, but I am very glad I did. Previously, I had only heard the song “Paranoid Android” from this album, which was shown to me by a friend who is a big Radiohead fan. In addition to “Paranoid Android,” the songs “Karma Police,” “Lucky,” “No Surprises,” and “Airbag,” were released as singles. But the remaining tracks are also worth checking out.

Take a listen below and share your thoughts on this album.

Album of the Week brings you an album to listen to every week. Maybe a new release, maybe an old favorite. My tastes range from alt-rock to technical death metal and everything in between, but if there’s something else you want to hear, be sure to leave your suggestions! Check out last week’s album!
