This week’s album comes recommended from astronaughte! Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is third album from Chicago alt-rockers The Smashing Pumpkins, and arguably their best album. Mellon Collie is a two-disk affair, each disc titled Dawn to Dusk and Twilight to Starlight respectively, which features many of the band’s most well known songs, such as “Tonight, Tonight,” “Zero,” “Bullet with Butterfly Wings,” “1979,” and many others. Personally, I think those four tracks right there might be the best songs The Smashing Pumpkins ever wrote. It’s not surprising that this is widely praised as their best album.

Of course, there are twenty-four other spectacular tracks on Mellon Collie that are worth listening to, so take a listen down below and let me know what you think!

Album of the Week brings you an album to listen to every week. Maybe a new release, maybe an old favorite. My tastes range from alt-rock to technical death metal and everything in between, but if there’s something else you want to hear, be sure to leave your suggestions! Check out last week’s album!
