Aritst: Christopher Lee
Album: Charlemagne: The Omens of Death
Genre: Heavy Metal, Power Metal
Release Date: May 27, 2013

Last week, the world mourned the last of phenomenal actor Christopher Lee. In his later years, the man known for playing Dracula, Count Dooku, and Saruman released several heavy metal albums. Charlemagne: The Omens of Death was his final work and was released when he was in his nineties, making him the oldest heavy metal performer of all time.

The man had such a powerful voice both as an actor and as a singer, and it just blended so well with metal. There is some fantastic music on this album and it is definitely worth checking out even if you aren’t a metalhead! The album also features guitar work from Guatamalen guitarist Hedras Ramos Jr., and Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner helped Sir Lee with writing the musical arrangements!

Check out the album below and let me know what you think!

RIP Christopher Lee. You shall be missed.

Album of the Week brings you an album to listen to every week. Maybe a new release, maybe an old favorite. My tastes range from alt-rock to technical death metal and everything in between, but if there’s something else you want to hear, be sure to leave your suggestions! Check out last week’s album!
