Genre: Melodic Metalcore, Thrash Metal, New Wave of American Heavy Metal
Release Date: March 15, 2005
Today's album just turned ten years old this past weekend. Ascendancy is the breakout second album from Florida modern metal titans Trivium. This is the album that put this band on the map back in 2005, and ten years later this album holds up so well and the band still kicks major ass.
I've seen these guys live three times now (in 2011, 2012, and 2013) and they always play a few songs off of this album such as "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation," "Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr," "Rain," and "Like Light to Flies," which are some of the best tracks for this album. There are so many great tracks on this album that make it worth a full listen.
Check out this awesome album below and celebrate its ten-year anniversary. You can also find my in-depth video review underneath.
