It’s Metal Monday once again, which means it’s time to bring together my two favorite things, metal music and video games. In previous installments we’ve jammed to some metal covers of songs from the Zelda and Pokemon series, but now we’re going to check out some from the Metroid series!

When it comes to music reviews, I pick albums that are related in some way to video games since that’s what this blog is about. However, I just love this EP so much and want to talk about it, so here we go. Australian prog rock/metal guitarist Plini just put out his new Sunhead EP today and boy is it good.

I had an issue with a jerk commenting on one of my articles earlier today, and it’s been bothering me more than it should. I thought this would be a good time to share some thoughts on people who decide to be jerks on the Internet.

I sat down to write something today, put on some music as always, then got to thinking about what to write about. I couldn’t really think of a topic, but then I glanced to the playlist displayed on my second monitor. “There’s a perfectly good topic right there,” I said to myself. When I write, there are particular

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another Metal Monday post where I bring together my two favorite things, metal music and video games. Last week we took a look at some metal covers of Zelda songs, so today we’re gonna do the same for another of my favorite games when it comes to music, Pokemon!

Late last night, just before heading to bed, I saw the news that Pantera, Damageplan, and Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul had passed away. He was 54 years old. Pantera were one of the bands I listened to a lot when I first started getting into metal music, and it saddens me that another of their members has passed on.

At the end of every year I usually write a list of my favorite albums of the year, but what I haven’t yet done is write a list of my favorite albums of all time. That list is one that is ever evolving, but here’s a look at what my favorite albums are at this very moment in time. Some are old favorites, and some are

I’ve been working on this list for well over a month, so it’s high time I got it done before we get too far into the new year. A listened to a lot of new albums in 2017, and I found it exceptionally difficult to narrow down a list of my favorites. After a lot of listening and re-listening (and needing to expand from

Welcome to the next installment of my series where I take a tongue-in-cheek look at the Star Wars films and share my occasionally weird opinions on them. Okay, they’re definitely not the weirdest opinions, but I frequently find myself disagreeing with people when it comes to Star Wars. It’s been a year since the first

The Wild, the latest release from Ro Panuganti — aka SwigglesRP — combines two of my favorite things when it comes to music, progressive rock/metal and Zelda music. This five track EP is comprised of prog rock and prog metal covers of songs from this year’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it sounds so

Well, we’ve reached the end of another year, which means I’m back with a list of my favorite music releases this year. 2016 was a pretty rotten year, but there was still a ton of fantastic music that came out, at least in the genres I enjoy. This year I’ve listened to more new music than I have in a long time, 45

The Halo series will forever be my favorite series of video games for so many reasons. From the spectacular level design, to the tight gameplay, to the interesting narrative, I love so much about Halo, especially the titles developed by Bungie. Along with all those reasons I just mentioned, one of the things that
